Our work is founded on a scientifically rigorous and truly open minded exploration into the laws of nature at the deepest levels. This is evident from the book Zero to Infinity, in publication by World Scientific, and which covers many of the core themes, especially ultimate reality, emergence, evolution and infinity, but which also touches on creativity, mind and intelligence.

There are, in addition, many related papers by us, including recent ones linking fundamental aspects of biology and physics and discussing the evolution of human intelligence.

The proposed project will extend these themes into new areas. The funding area we would be most concerned with is natural science but our work also has implications within the areas of human science, and philosophy and theology.

Biological systems, though operating at the edge of chaos, are extremely ordered, whereas the tendency for nature is to become more disordered. Biology is, in effect, a race between order and entropy – with the odds stacked in favour of entropy. 

Biological systems need to create order, to process information as efficiently as possible. We contend the efficient processing of information requires certain algebraic and geometric structures, which are also found in systems organized at other scales. 

We now propose that this is part of a universal system of process applicable to Nature, which we may describe as ‘Nature’s code’.

A broad outlook assists research, as often a problem can be solved in one area by utilising knowledge from another. For example, within art and 3D and 4D geometry, the mathematics of certain geometric shapes can define properties of the DNA code and translation into proteins.

The geometric shapes relate exactly to the process of the algebra and so it has now become possible to present these ideas in a visually attractive way to the general public. We aim to produce a 3D projection film (upon a dome) in collaboration with musicians and artists.
